Week 2: Parenting Chaos, Pharmacy Cycles, and an SJT Opportunity 🩺

WEEK 2: THE GROWTH PHASE

Abstract composition showing pharmacy growth and professional medical elements

Welcome to Week 2. Things have been a little chaotic on my end; my daughter has unfortunately come down with hand, foot, and mouth disease, which has turned the household into a bit of a whirlwind. Between the parenting chaos and this ongoing heatwave, I am officially on a desperate search for air conditioning recommendations. If you have a brand you swear by, please hit reply!

THE JULY-AUGUST CYCLE

We are currently in the thick of the pharmacy transition cycle. This window from July to August is critical for every level of pharmacy professional. We're seeing leavers moving to new adventures and a fresh wave of new starters beginning their journey.

OPERATIONS

Focusing on rota adjustments, induction planning, and managing celebratory parties while keeping service high.

HANDOVERS

Ensuring clinical safety through structured handovers as teams shift and new Band 6 cohorts arrive.

TRAINING

Preparing induction plans for new trainees to ensure they feel supported from day one.

MORE THAN JUST DOWNLOADS

The Academy is evolving. I want to emphasize that we provide active support and training, not just a folder of resources. We are currently developing a Job Application and Interview Mastery Course to help you secure the roles you deserve.

Whether it's NHS applications, SJT preparation, career progression, or building leadership confidence, our community is here to provide practical education for your career.

INFLUENCE THE 2026 SJT RESOURCE

The Situational Judgement Test (SJT) is a vital part of your progression, focusing heavily on professional judgement and patient safety. We have updated our 2026 resource and I am looking for pharmacy students, trainees, or newly qualified pharmacists to review it.

P.S. It’s coming home.
